Chipotle introduces two cobots to enhance efficiency and consistency in digital orders, as part of its growth strategy and Cultivate Next venture fund.
Chipotle has introduced 2 cobots that will help make efficient and consistent bowls for customers. Developed with a partnership between Vebu and Hyphen, Autocado processes avocados for guacamole preparation, while the Augmented Makeline, created with Hyphen, automates bowl and salad assembly for digital orders. These “cobots” will help with operation efficiency as well as the overall customer experience.
This investment will be part of Chipotle's Cultivate Next venture fund that will be focused on supporting the massive growth operation Chipotle has under way with a plan of 7,000 North American restaurants.
These cobots do not seek to replace the workers but will be assisting the crew members in the restaurants this year. With the goal of increasing efficiency and continuing to increase the consistency of the experience for digital guests, these cobots will be examined as many are eager to see the change in the products from Chipotle ($CMG).
