NASA asks SpaceX to bring home stranded Boeing astronauts from the ISS, highlighting Boeing's ongoing struggles and raising investor concerns.
NASA has produced a statement that SpaceX will be involved in bringing home the stranded Boeing astronauts from the ISS. The astronauts have been stuck in space for months, due to the agency's belief in Boeing’s troubled Starliner capsule. The astronauts were originally supposed to stay in space for 8 days, now it has extended to around 8 months. The next Dragon flight is scheduled for February. Boeing is now facing high criticism as their rival spacecraft will be used to bring back the Starliner crew. This comes after 737 Max plane issues that had 2 fatal crashes in 2018 and 2019 killing a collective 349 people. Williams and Wilmore will be staying at the space station until Next year due to the collective decision both from NASA and Boeing after extensive data reviewing from the past weeks. Investors will keep an eye on the situation and see how the stock of Boeing ($BA) is affected from this massive failure.
