OpenAI is testing SearchGPT, an AI search engine designed to provide fast, follow-up answers, set to rival Google, Bing, and Yahoo, with integration planned for ChatGPT.
OpenAI is working on SearchGPT, a AI search engine that will be competing with other search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo. Functions like asking follow-up questions and receiving fast answers are some of the qualities that OpenAI are working on. At the moment it is only available to a small group of users to test and give feedback. A waitlist is up for those who want to join and test for themselves once accepted. Being powered by OpenAI, SearchGPT will fix the annoying issue of having to search multiple questions before arriving at your answer on most search engines today.
Currently at its early stages, ChatGPT will also plan to integrate some of SearchGPT utilities into their AI Chat bot as well. It is important to note (Stated by OpenAI on a blog) that SearchGPT is about searching and is separate from training OpenAI’s generative AI foundation models. It has always been a long rumored goal that OpenAI is launching this with a main goal of taking down Google.
